I read this sentence (by photographer Iwan Baan) some time ago and it came to my mind when I looked back on my past year this week. A year that, looking back, started unconsciously with this sentence. 'There is a world out there waiting' has never before revealed itself so clearly to me.
After I responded to this inner call with everything inside of me at the beginning of this year, the world, which was apparently waiting for me, revealed itself to me. An unbelievably beautiful year followed. A year of exhibitions, art sales, workshops and deeper development. A year in which I thoroughly enjoyed all the great conversations and new and renewed encounters during your visits to the exhibitions and during the workshops, but certainly also the online encounters have stayed with me. Thank you for that!
In the video below you can see a compilation of the highlights of the past year. Making this compilation, which naturally makes me look back on my past year, touches me. Throughout the year I rolled from one exhibition to another and I certainly enjoyed it at times, but soon the next activity, with all the hustle and bustle that entailed, was just around the corner, so standing still often missed the point. Now, looking back, the intensity of the year really dawns on me.
Looking back becomes a cherished positive memory.
I can advise you to take the time for that, to ask yourself the question 'what was my latest year like'? Let the highlights, but certainly also the struggles, pass in review. Because often those struggles, looking back, were the prelude to the next highlight. I wish you a lot of fun with this for me always fascinating end-of-year activity.
Full of expectations and hopeful of what the world will show me, I will soon be walking into 2022! I sincerely hope to meet you again then.
Wishing you a loving 2022 and a big thank you for your support!
